BEWARE, Kids!!!! Do not OPEN that LUNCH BOX!!! These Scary Fish Stick Fingers will really add the spook to your kids’ lunch. I think in the last week I honestly have watched way too many Halloween wars.

And really, who won’t. They are fun and addicting. If anything, they have added a spark to my Halloween spirit this year. Itโ€™s the countdown to Halloween, and creepy things are brewing in my kitchen. Whatโ€™s on the menu? Bloody fingers, of course.

Your Halloween crew will shriek with delight at the sight of these creative, creepy Halloween fish stick fingers. Every year I try to come up with some kind of spooky Halloween food to freak out my kids, but that still is good enough for them to eat.

A couple of years ago I created these screamin’ fish stick fingers, and they were a HIT! I even made a simple blood sauce to dip the severed fingers into (okay, it was really red-dyed tartar sauce)!

What you will need:

It would be a cool Halloween project to do with the kids, and these will be a big hit at a Halloween party! Your guests will be dying to eat these “finger foods”.

First, preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the brand of fish sticks you purchased. Please keep in mind, you may need to adjust your cook time depending on how many fish sticks you decided to make.

Now itโ€™s time to make a sauce to go with the fingers as you wait for your oven to preheat. You need “fresh blood” to serve with your creepy fingers. To make your sauce, simply add in a few extra drops of red food coloring to your tartar sauce. Place in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

cutting cheese triangles for fish stick fingers

While Fish Sticks are cooking, cut your cheese for fingernails. You can simply freehand your cheese nails into small triangles or cheat as I did. I dove into my cookie cutter and found this butterfly cut out. I used the edge of the wing to form my nail. 100% in the form of a triangle. This made this step much quicker.

Off to the oven, they go

When ready, pull your baking fish sticks out for the last 2 minutes of cooking. This is an important step. You don’t want over the cook your fish sticks, but you want to make sure you get the cheese on for a few minutes of cooking.

Make sure you have a timer set and are listening to your alarm.

Now it the time to place your cheese nails on each fish stick. Once they are all ready to go, carefully place them back in the oven and continue to bake for the last 2 minutes. You will get a perfectly cooked fish stick with an

OH, SO, CREEPY fingernail.

Adding in fake blood to fish sticks

Bringing it all together

Get ready to add in those special embellishments that will have your kiddos screaming. You are now ready to paint on your blood. I used America Color Food Coloring. I am sure regular ole food coloring will work just as well. But America Color is thicker viscosity and is made for cakes, and frosting fondant.

It will give it a more “real” look. This step needs to be quick if you want your kiddos to get warm food. But no rush, because this step happens in a snap.

Fish Stick with creepy cheese, and fake blood.

Add on your knuckles using the same brand of food coloring in black. I am still so amazed at how well these fish stick fingers turned out.  They looked great, and the melted cheese fingernails were the perfect spooky touch!

And there you have it. Scary Fish Stick Fingers. And just look at them… CREEPY!!! It IS Halloween, after all.
