ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Jennifer!

Modern homemaking shouldn’t have to be a chore. This is why here, at Inspiring Savings, we are all about helping you to Live Simply & Save.

Hi, I am Jennifer. I am so excited that you found us. Here at Inspiring Savings.com you will find all kinds of articles on finding useful and practical solutions to the everyday challenges of running a household.

I love everything from simple weeknight dinner solutions to fun and creative meal ideas for family. Whether you’re a working mom, a stay-at-home dad, or an empty nester, the duties of homemaking can be demanding, expensive, and time-consuming. And what I want to do is help simplify all our lives. We run around enough.

I have come up with quite a few handy tricks over the years, so whether you want to learn how to quickly degrease your kitchen cabinets, need a great trick to unclog a drain naturally, or read about the many uses for borax I have got you covered here at InspiringSavings.com.

Plus, with all these amazing household hacks, I bet you have worked yourself up with a pretty good appetite. Eating healthy is an important part of maintaining and fueling energy. Meals are important and you can save money by eating at home by making some quick weeknight dinner ideas.

Some of our most popular recipes on the blog include

Easy Orange Beef And Broccoli Stir Fry

Seafood Salad Recipe For Sandwiches

Shepherd’s Pie Stuffed Bell Peppers

Part of creating delicious meals at home is creating the time to do it. Meal planning is a big part of what we do here. It saves money, your sanity and creates more time at the dinner table with the family.

Family time is special and needed. And why I have also included fun and creative crafts and activities you can do with your kids that don’t cost a million dollars.

I try to make the work of “keeping house” easier, so you can enjoy more of your home with the people you love.

About Jen Schreiner

I’m Jen Schreiner, a faith-driven woman with two kids and a pretty amazing husband. I am a blogger, writer, and founder of InspiringSavings.com and JenSchreiner.com.

I began my writing journey in the fall of 2011. After realizing the need to help others to simplify their lives at home. Helping others is not something new to me.

Prior to becoming a blogger, I was and will always be a registered nurse. Earning my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College (In Troy, NY). I have a love for caring for others and helping those in need. I am proud to say that I can continue to do just that, just in a different capacity.

My career also included a 7-year stretch as a stay-at-home mom to raise my two awesome kids. Luckly, writing allows me to be home a lot more often too. In many ways, my work as a mother and being a homemaker was not unlike my work as an RN. I worked long hours, often 12-hour shifts in the emergency department. Standing on my feet and moving for long periods of time are the norm for me.

Before and during my start-up in writing, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. If it wasn’t for that small hiccup in my life, I know I would not have started a career in writing. I remember the day I got the phone call with my formal diagnosis.

My doctor asked me to sit down. I wasn’t sure what I was bracing for, but when it blurted out the news, my first reaction was …

“PRAISE GOD”.

You may think this may have been a strange response, but you see I was suffering from all kinds of weird symptoms and every single test returned normal results (except for a biopsy). Going through radioactive treatment allowed me the time to start my first blog, Iinspiringsavings.com). I spent a few weeks away from my family because of that treatment.

Drawing on my Lord and Savior helped me to get through this time. I then dedicated myself to helping make life easier (and hopefully more enjoyable!) Life is full of too many unmet expectations, and I for one want you to know that we can not always fulfill all those needs, but what we can do is make small changes at home. Creating a life, that is filled with abundant love and satisfaction.

Today, I am challenging you to Live Simply & Save.
