Why Use Nutter Butter Cookies?

Nutter Butter cookies are a classic American cookie enjoyed by people of all ages.

These peanut butter cookies are versatile. I love that you can use them to make a variety of no-bake cookie treats. Such as these: Nutter Butter Halloween Ghost Cookies or these Halloween Nutter Butter Bat Cookies.

These crunchy, cookie-filled treats contain a sweet and creamy filling that will have your mouth watering before you even take one bite!

How to Make These Holiday Reindeer Cookies

STEP ONE: While this may seem a bit silly. Carefully open one Nutter Butter double-stuffed cookie. By separating fronts and backs.

Double stuff cookie is best. It gives enough space to allow for the pretzels. This way your cookies won’t look off.

STEP TWO: Break one mini pretzel in half and place one half on each side of the cookie. Press the ends of the pretzels into the peanut butter filling. You can use a small amount of melted white chocolate to secure the pretzels in place if they wonโ€™t stick on their own.

Then press the top cookie back onto the filling. This way, they are back to being one solid cookie.

STEP THREE: Add two small dots of melted chocolate to the top of the cookie and add two candy eyes. Press the candy eyes gently to make sure they are in place.

STEP FOUR: Place one small dot of melted chocolate on the bottom tip of the cookie and press one red M&M in place. Hold for a few seconds after placement.

STEP FIVE: Lastly, allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.

Keep in mind, perfection is a myth and the main thing is to have fun with it. If a few things don’t look right, it’s okay.

It is going to end up being eaten anyway.

How to Store These Holiday Cookies

Keep your Nutter ghost cookies in an airtight right on the counter. They will stay fresh for up to a week. Otherwise, you can freeze them in a freezer bag or again in another airtight container. They will keep in the freezer for up to six months.

Quick storage tips

  • These cookies are best served and stored on a flat surface. The antlers tend to break when put in bags.
  • Use a large airtight container to allow a cushion for the antlers.
  • Place parchment paper in between cookie layers.
