This Easter we are giving White Hot Chocolate new life with this fun new addition. Colorful peeps. Did you know??? Peeps brand makes 2 million Peeps a day, and over 2 billion in a year. (Mind BLOWN)

Peeps marshmallows are one of those seasonal treats that are pretty and decorative, but not necessarily a go to candy I would choose to eat by itself. A few years ago, I made some hot cocoa and it dawned on me to use these marshmallows as a way to dress up the hot cocoa.

And just like that, an idea was born. The kids love it and so do I. This recipe makes enough for six servings. If you love the combination of white chocolate and hot chocolate you will want to try your hand at making 3-ingredient White Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows.

What Does White Hot Chocolate Taste Like?

White hot chocolate is rich and smooth like milk chocolate, but with a creamy vanilla flavor. If you’re not a fan of milk chocolate or dark chocolate, you’re definitely going to want to try this white hot chocolate.

Did you know white chocolate isn’t even actually chocolate?

White chocolate is made with sugar, cocoa butter, milk, vanilla, and lecithin. If you think cocoa is bitter or has too strong a flavor, you might want to try white chocolate instead. The absence of cocoa takes away the “chocolate” taste.

After you taste how great this hot chocolate is, you’ll be wanting to stock up on PEEPS® candy so you can make this shake year-round!

Ingredients Needed For This White Hot Chocolate

The key to making the best White Hot Chocolate is using quality ingredients such as Ghirardelli White Chocolate Chips and PEEPS® candy!

  • 12 ounces white baking chips
  • 5 cups milk
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 container marshmallow creme
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • Peeps and mini marshmallows for topping

Please note: Do not use 100% heavy cream or whipping cream as a substitute for whole milk. These two substitutions will be too heavy and most likely give you a massive tummy ache!

Instructions to Make This White Hot Chocolate with Peeps

Gone are the days of a basic hot chocolate. It’s time to get creative and add a bit of character to these timeless hot beverages. Making this awesome recipe is actually pretty simple.

STEP ONE: Combine the white chocolate baking chips, milk, whipping cream, and marshmallow creme in the bowl of a slow cooker. No need to stir immediately.

STEP TWO: Next, cook on low for three hours, stirring occasionally.

STEP THREE: Before serving, add the pink food coloring and stir to mix. Giving it a good stir to incorporate.

STEP FOUR: Now you are ready to garnish. Serve with a Peep, a few peeps, or a nice scoop of mini marshmallows on top.

Adding in the bright and festive PEEPS® candy will make it the ultimate Easter dessert. Expect to see lots of smiles and oohs and aahhs.

Additional Hot Chocolate Tips

  • If you are trying to keep this hot chocolate warmer for a longer period of time, keeping it in the slow cooker will do the trick.
  • To make this recipe quicker; Add all ingredients to a large saucepan and cook on medium. Continue to cook until all ingredients have been warmed and incorporated.
  • Change the chocolate to milk chocolatedark chocolate, or even a blend of chocolates.
  • Feel free to swap out dairy milk for non-dairy alternatives like oat milk or almond milk.
