Going green isn’t always easy, but if it can save you money and the environment at the same time, there’s no reason not to. There are some very obvious items you can purchase to make the switch to going green.

Eco-Friendly Products That Save Money

There are many ways to save money and be kind to Mother Earth.  The term “Going Green” quite frankly can scare a few of us. Why? Most think that you have to spend money in order to lighten your carbon footprint.

Scary thought of the day; The average American produces 4 lbs of trash every day and with 300 million+ Americans producing that much waste daily.

Let’s Play a Game of Myth Busters About Eco-Friendly Products That Save Money

We already know that there are many ways to save money while helping out the environment. You just have to be a little savvy and shop around. I am glad you landed on this article.

This fun list of eco-friendly products may be items, you may have never thought about.

Let’s Be Real About The Latest Eco-Friendly Products

We are no strangers to using many of the latest eco-friendly products, such as LED Light Bulbs and programmable thermostats. Over the years, our family has started implementing many of these better-known products.

Reducing your footprint is awesome. Saving money is awesome. And when you combine both – you’ve got something super special.

Switch To A Makeup Cloth

Rather than constantly buying one-and-done wipes or makeup-removing solutions, I use a soft reusable cloth. This cloth lasts up to FIVE years. I can attest to it removing hard-to-remove makeup; such as waterproof mascara

The Miracle Face Makeup Cloth is naturally and effectively removes all your makeup. It works by simply wetting the cloth, then follows by wiping your face to remove all kinds of makeup. When done, rinse and hang to dry. It is a great eco-friendly product that in the long run will help save you money.

Try the Miracle Face MakeUp Eraser

Make the Move from Traditional Detergent to Laundry Detergent Sheets

With fewer ingredients and additives, laundry sheets from Earth Breeze can actually mean cleaner clothes, since laundry detergent sheets won’t leave soap residue or skin irritants on your clothes.

Laundry sheets are already perfectly pre-measured, so your clothes will come clean without fussing over messy detergent measuring cups too. Laundry detergent sheets are lightweight and compact, as well as being low-waste.

There is zero need for a detergent jug or scoop and their cardboard packaging is completely recyclable.

Want to give them a try? You can purchase Laundry Detergent Sheets from Earth Breeze.

Use A Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

Washing your face before bed is crucial, but the cleansing technique is even more important. This little silicone cleansing brush will not only help you scrub off the day, but will help you use less of your current facial wash. In fact, I use about 50% less than I would normally use.

The tiny silicone nubs that cover the front side are a godsend for a germophobe like me because they don’t grow bacteria.

The entire thing fits in the palm of your hand and feels weightless. I thought at first it would feel awkward to use, but it really doesn’t. I will never go back to washing my face with just my hands. Want to give it a try?

You can purchase from Liquidlinks directly. They are the highest quality ones I have found online.

Try A Shampoo & Conditioning Bar

Shampoo bars have come a long way. Did you know that shampoo bars actually contain less toxic ingredients than commercially sold liquid shampoos? That is right!

No sodium lauryl sulfate or ammonium lauryl sulfate.

Not only do they work just as great as a traditional bottle of shampoo, but it lasts twice as long. Plus the big bonus – No plastic waste. Speaking from experience, once you find a good shampoo bar, you will also notice that you will not need conditioner once your hair adjusts.

It does also seem awkward at first to be rubbing a bar of soap on your head. Give it some time I am sure this will pass as well.

Just a note; If you have hard water, you might want to wet your hair with distilled water with a little baking soda first (about 1tsp per 2 cups) and then lather and rinse with regular water. Hard water can really make hair dry & frizzy.

Try my favorite shampoo bar & conditioning bars from Bootleg Bath.

Reusable snack and sandwich bags

Use Reusable Snack Bags

Living Plastic bag-free just makes healthy sense. Instead of purchasing reusable bags for your lunch, kids’ snacks, or just food storage, you can now use reusable pouches. My favorite bags come from LunchSkins.

These handy durable pouches are dishwasher safe and machine washable and can be used over and over again. Switching from purchasing plastic bags will reduce the amount of plastic waste produced daily. These are great eco-friendly products.

Go ahead and check out LunchSkins.

Another great option is to also think about using Beeswax Wraps. Rebecca from Let’s Eat Cake goes over this option in-depth here!

Try Switching To Cloth Napkins

Using cloth napkins is one of the easiest ways to be a little nicer to the earth (did you realize 13 billion pounds of paper towels are used each year? Yikes!

Here is one of my favorite options Ruvanti Multi Color Cloth Napkins 12 Pack.

Buy Misfits Vegetables & Fruits

Sometimes farmer’s markets and grocery stores will have produce that isn’t quite perfect (better-named Misfits) at discounted prices. The food is still good to use and yes, it may not look perfect and that is okay. Buy it up and save money on groceries and cut down on food waste.

You can also Misfits Fruits & vegetables delivered to your door. You can order 20 lbs of fresh fruits & vegetables that are just not perfect insight, but equally delicious as their pristine friends found in local supermarkets.

Want in? Check out Misfit Market

Eco-Friendly Products Worth The Switch?

Absolutely! That is my quick answer. Switching over to all or some of these eco-friendly products, in the end, will help you save money. You will see that most of these products do not cost you an arm & a leg to buy either.
