- Sign up for an account
- Once signed up, go to profile
- Edit your pet’s profile – adding in the date of birth (right-hand side)
- Once your profile is complete, then you are all set.
- On your pet’s birthday, you will be emailed your treat coupon
Just leave your personal information, such as name, email, and number.
After you join, you can expect to receive not only the latest news from Petco but free shipping on your orders and enjoy 5% back every day by earning 1 point for every $1 spent.

They absolutely DO! I do this every year. You need to have registered your pup’s birthday online prior to his actual birthday. They will then send you a printed coupon to your email once a year for a free one pound bag of treats from the treat bar.

I don’t believe cats recieve anything for their birthday. Petco usually sends the coupon weeks before the actual birthday( my dog’s birthday is Feb 06 and they sent me the email Jan 19.) My cat’s birthday is March 01 and they have yet to send me any coupons; however I assume it might just be too early since last year for my male betta’s birthday they sent me a coupon for $5 on a decoration/accesory,( I believe. But for sure received an email for his birthday and picked up his present, cause even the cashier was shocked they offer birthday presents for fishes). It would be strange to give a fish a gift and not a cat. If i do receive a coupon for my cat I will be sure to reply back and send a verification on if they still give fishes (specifically bettas) gifts on their birthday too)

Petco does send a coupon for free treats (up to $4) on your cat’s birthday. Also, Friendly reminder that Petsmart (~$3 on Authority brand treats) and Pets Supplies Plus ($5 on a toy) also offer free gifts on your pets special day.

I should clarify that the cat treats are not from the treat bar but the the packaged branded treats located in the aisles.

It must be different for your location. You see, I just received a coupon for the treat bar for my little guy. His birthday is in 2 weeks. He turns 13 this year 🙂

I should also mention that in order to get these promotion done from the stores you must make an account and create profiles for your pet(s) at their websites. Also, it is my understanding that these profiles must be made months before the pets actual birthday. No gift will be sent if the the profile was made a few days/weeks before the date.

You may want to update this as I reached out to Petco to see why I have not received the birthday treat email and they advised they suspended this in December 2021. I confirmed they offer no birthday rewards until further notice.
